Marshall County Schools Earns Historic B Rating for 2023-2024 School Year

 

Marshall County, Mississippi - [September 17, 2024] - Marshall County School District is proud to announce that, for the first time in its history, the district has earned a B rating for the 2023-2024 school year. This milestone reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and the entire community.

The district's journey toward this achievement has been marked by consistent efforts to improve educational outcomes. Over the past several years, Marshall County Schools have made significant strides in various key performance areas, resulting in steady improvement in overall points and educational quality.

 

Key Achievements:

  • Improvement in Overall Points: The district's overall points have shown a consistent upward trend under Mississippi’s current accountability model, increasing from 536 points in 2016-2017 to 617 points in the 2023-2024 school year.

  • Letter Grade Progression: The district maintained a C rating for several years before achieving this year's historic B rating, showcasing a commitment to academic excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Graduation Rate: The district earned the highest graduation rate under the current accountability model, at 90.5%.
