
Friday News: April 28, 2023


At approximately 2:00 on the afternoon of April 27, 2023, two former Byhalia students made entry into Byhalia High School. Both were confronted by the School Resource Officer and escorted out of the building without incident. Neither person had a weapon of any type. Due to this incident, the district is evaluating its security procedures and will make necessary changes to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Friday News: April 14, 2023 - State testing begins next week for 5th and 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders will test the following week. We have attached a letter with our Friday News explaining the state testing process.

The Marshall County School District will dismiss at 12:45 today, April 5, 2023 due to the threat of inclement weather. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we want to get students home before the severe weather moves in. The line of storms coming in has produced tornadoes in other states and we want students home before those storms arrive into our area.

Good Morning,
The Marshall County School District is aware of a perceived threat to Byhalia High School on March 31, 2023 that has been shared with students and community members. Administration and School Resource Officers have vetted the threat, and found there is no current threat, including no weapon. We understand and share concerns for the safety of our students and make it a top priority within our schools and district.

As March comes to a close, we would like to recognize our BMS Band director Andrew Bernard for all his efforts leading the BMS band program. He has done a tremendous job growing the talents of our students and the overall quality of our program. Thank you Mr. Bernard!

BMS 7th graders had a great trip earlier this week to Northwest as a reward for their performance on the 2021-2022 MAAP state test.




Due to the current power outage, the phone system is not working at all schools in the Marshall County School District.
